| About | Melvin “Doc” L Twaddle U.S. Veteran May 30, 1928 - March 27, 2016 Melvin L. 'Doc' Twaddle, 87, of California, Mo., passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at California Care Center in California, Mo. and was able to take communion a short time before he passed on Easter Sunday. He was born on May 30, 1928 in Elmo, Mo., the son of Will and Mae (Bayless) Twaddle whom both preceded him in death. Melvin was united in marriage to Carol J. Twaddle in Sweet Springs, Mo., who survives. Melvin was a graduate of Elmo High School and received a Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church of California. He was in the United States Army Airguard. He was in the California Masonic Lodge, California Kiwanis Club, Superintendent of Schools at Clearmont, North Andrew, Fairfax, Albany and California. After Retirement he worked for the MSTA and was a very avid golfer. In addition to his wife, Carol, he is also survived by: two sons, Michael Twaddle of Lake Ozark, Tracy Twaddle of Boone County; three step-daughters; Teresa, Tammy, Tonya; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: five brothers; three sisters; and one daughter, Terri Creason. Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date. Officiating will be Pastor Peter Kurowski. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of California, Mo. c/o the funeral home.
