About | Barney G. Bollinger died March 3, 1981, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in a drowning accident at the Holiday Inn Racquet Club in Cape Girardeau. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born in Cape Girardeau on Aug. 28, 1948, to the late Nelson Bollinger and Mrs. Ruth M. Van Matre Bollinger Hinkle of Marble Hill who survives. Bollinger was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge #639 in Cape Girardeau. He was a construction worker. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Barry Bollinger, Cape Girardeau; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis L. Bollinger, Marble Hill; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Van Matre, Marble Hill. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Marble Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Ferguson of Cape Girardeau officiating. Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery near Lutesville, Missouri. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Ward-Liley Funeral Home in Lutesville where an Elks service will be held at 7:30 p.m. |
