About | John Christopher “Chris” Romanchuk, 49, of Lone Jack, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Chris was born January 19, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of John and Claran Romanchuk. He was raised in Kansas City and was a member of the Ruskin High School graduating class of 1984. A chef by trade, Chris proclaimed himself a 1999 graduate of the “University Hot Stoves” and considered himself “Republicrat”. He held several positions in the restaurant industry and was perhaps most proud of his years serving as General Manager of Whiskey Tango Night Club in Grain Valley. Chris was an organ donor. He was known for his bravery, hard work, dedication, zest for cooking and pleasing the palate. He had a soft heart and a great sense of humor. Chris will live on through others. John leaves behind two daughters, Jordan Caitlin and Haylee Christine Romanchuk of Independence, MO, as well as former wife, Elizabeth, and stepdaughter Amanda Jennings. He is also survived by his parents, John and Claran; two sisters, Jioia Romanchuk of Lone Jack, MO and Amy (John) Caton of Blue Springs, MO; and many nieces, nephews and the “rest of the fam damily.” He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mildred Romanchuk, Clarence and Edna Schmidt, as well as cousin, Lori Romanchuk. Family, friends, co-workers, poker and pool teammates and “all the regulars” are encouraged to gather at Whiskey Tango Night Club, 401 S. Outer Road E., Grain Valley, MO on Sunday, June 7th, starting at 6:30 PM to share food, drinks, and memories, and a toast to Chris and his life. A fund for the family will be available. |
