About | After graduation, Rick entered the United States Air Force Academy where he graduated cum laude, then Georgetown University and graduated summa cum laude with 2 majors and began his military training. He went to Vietnam Nam in 1969 and became part of a select group who who did the dangerous search and rescue missions over Laos at night. On Jan.11, 1970 he was shotdown and his his plane hit the top of a karst and exploded. He was never found and in 2014 a small piece of bone fragment was dna tested and was a perfect match to our mother. In April 2015 He was given a full military funeral and is buried at his beloved Air Force Acacemy where he was to teach after his service. There is a perpetual memorial to Rick at the history museum in forest park . |
