About | Daniel Bruce Hertweck passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015. He was the son of Charlie Hertweck and Vivian Earline Richards. He was survived by his three children, Mason Hertweck, Ruby Hertweck and Heather Orris, and by two grandsons, Paxton Hertweck and Elijah Orris. After growing up in the rolling hills of Missouri, Dan graduated from College of the Ozarks ready to make his mark on the world. He certainly did just that. His professional career covered many different occupations. He began as a teacher and a basketball coach and later moved to Houston, Texas and worked with electronic companies like Hitachi and Toshiba. He then spent many years working in the hospice and healthcare industries, sharing his joy and love with those who really needed it. At the end of his life, Dan was working on starting his own company as a life coach. He was a devoted father with a deep and profound love for his children. He made sure they would never doubt his love for them and reminded them almost every day. In his younger years, he was an excellent basketball player and later became an avid cyclist. Dan enjoyed lying by the pool with a good book and plenty of sun. He lived an active, healthy lifestyle. Dan was a rock for many people and genuinely cared without any judgment. He spent his free time mentoring underprivileged children and participating in local Houston biking events. His passing was sudden and tragic. Words cannot express how greatly he will be missed. He was one of the good ones. (Crushed by truck while biking). |
