About | Webb City – Frank W. Doll, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at his home. He was born on April 20, 1931 in Webb City to John J. Doll and Elfie Curl Doll. Frank lived in Webb City his entire life, in the "West End". He retired from Eagle Picher after 42 years, was a 32 degree Mason, and was a clown in the Joplin Shriners. He was very active in the Webb City Elks and at one time was commissioner and coach of the Webb City Little League. Frank taught the JayCee shooter education program at the National Guard. He served in the Naval Reserve of Joplin and retired from the National Guard in Webb City and Joplin after 28 years of service. Frank drove a race car for a while but his love for hunting, fishing, and trapping filled most of his free time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Fay of the home; two sons, Michael in Iraq and Brenda Caylor of Jasper, Kirk and wife Rachel of Little Rock AFB in Arkansas; three daughters, Deborah and husband Bert Kleidon of Fairland Ok., Susan and husband Dennis Skaggs of Seneca, MO., Melinda and husband Shawn Porter of Jasper, MO.; Seventeen grandchildren, Steven and wife Shawnna Grigsby of Oronogo, Teddie and husband Shane Keeter of Galena, Kimmie and husband Josh Merril of Carthage, Brandi Grigsby of Carthage, Cody Grigsby of Carthage, Nathan Thomas of Seneca, Jeremy Thomas and wife Crystal of Webb City, Shawn Thomas and wife Chantal of U.S.N. San Diego, Josh Thomas and Ashley Conness of Neosho, Brock Skaggs of Carthage, Alexandria Doll of Jasper, Morgan Doll of Jasper, Erin Lindsey and Ashley Porter of Jasper, Chelsea and Zack Doll of Cabot, Arkansas; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Green and husband Bob of Webb City, Twyla (Tiny) Betebenner and husband Tom of Webb City; brother, Charles (Chub) of Joplin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by two sons, John and Aaron, his parents, John and Elfie Doll, and two brothers, Elvin and David. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Reverend Darin Youngberg and Reverend James McReynolds officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Elks Club of Webb City in care of the Simpson Funeral Home.
