Philip Scott Clark Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1980
Date of Passing Sep 30, 2008
About Philip Scott Clark, age 46, beloved husband, son, brother, and father, passed away in Pleasant View, Utah on September 30, 2008. He was born in Helena, MT, March 3, 1962 to Betty L Smith Clark and Kenneth P Clark. The youngest of four children, Phil was a long awaited gift not only for his parents, but for his three older sisters, as well. A bubbly, handsome child, he was a blessed bundle of joy and a welcomed addition to the family. The Clarks ranched on The Missouri River, near Toston, where Phil attended 1st grade. Then in 1969, the family moved to Helena and he attended Broadwater grade school, CR Anderson middle school, and Helena Capital High School, graduating in 1980. Following high school he attended a long-haul truck driving academy in Wyoming and upon receipt of his driving certification, Phil began his career in the transportation industry, also working in construction and even a short tenure as an owner-operator of a logging rig in Montana.

Phil genuinely loved children and was father to five of his own beautiful Clark kids, Ryan Walter, Cody Philip, Kori Ann, Bailey Anne, and Kendra Velvet; and step-father to Tyrel and Brittney Herzog, Mike Goodrich, and Josh Buck. He was a compassionate individual, both kind and generous, often willing to give his last dollar to help someone less fortunate than he was. He loved new blue jeans, polished cowboy boots, spiffy wheels, a good meal, and the hard luck country twang of the likes of Steve Earle, Travis Tritt, and Patti Loveless.

He was preceded in death by both paternal grandparents, Walter and Verna Clark; his maternal grandfather, Stanley Smith; and his dearly loved father, Kenneth Philip Clark. He is survived by his wife, Angie Clark; maternal grandmother, Helen Smith; mother, Betty L Mockel; children, Ryan, Cody, Kori, Bailey, and Kendra; step-children, Brittney, Tyrel, Mike, and Josh; sisters, Debra Johnson, Pamela Baczuk, and Rebecca (Becky) Brockway; and many, many members of his large extended family.

Phil walked a very difficult path for much of his life and undeniably, his untimely death leaves those that loved him searching for answers and feeling a sense of loss that can never be resolved. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
