About | Craig L. Simmons passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 in Hamilton, Montana. Craig was born April 20, 1958, the 4th child of James and Virginia Simmons of Hamilton, Montana. Craig attended schools in Hamilton. Craig started in Cub Scouts journeying through Webelos and on to Boy Scouts. He enjoyed skiing and he was proficient in rollerskating earning his 1-4 Bronze medals in dance skating, 1 Bronze medal in Freestyle skating, 1-3 Bronze and 4th Silver medal in Speed skating. Craig was a plumber by trade and held a Handyman’s Contractor’s License. Craig was a meticulous craftsman and an artist with his work. Craig married the love of his life, Wendy Dagsen on May 7, 1994 in Ogden, Utah; they were later divorced. Craig was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending quality time with his children, teaching them the art of fishing; they enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He loved the Bitterroot and was an avid fisherman and hunter of big game and upland birds. Craig had a special love for animals; “Gunner and Molly” were his very special pals. Survived by his son, Craig James Simmons of Hamilton, his daughter, Janial Simmons of Ogden, Utah, their mother, Wendy Simmons of Ogden, Utah and his granddaughter, Hailey Nichols of Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are his parents, James and Virginia Simmons of Hamilton, sister, Deb (Linsey) Strickland of Juneau, Alaska, brother, Douglas (Rebecca) Simmons of Hamilton, sister, Anita (Jeffrey) John of Hamilton and brother, Eric (Debora) Simmons of Stevensville; aunts, Mary Simmons of Ogden, Utah and Alice Foster of Hamilton. Nephews and nieces include, Dana Price, Jenifer Larson, Ryan Perry, Nikole and Patrick Simmons, Andrew Simmons and great nephews, Eric Price and Kade Perry. A brother, Dana Clifford Simmons, maternal grandparents, Peter and Myrtle Coloff, a nephew, Christopher Price and uncles, Clarence Simmons and Norm Foster, preceded Craig in death. A family celebration of Craig’s life will be September 5, 2005 at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Millar officiating. Urn placement will be at a private setting later. Craig is missed by all who loved and knew him.
