Mathew Stadley Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1997
Date of Passing Sep 09, 2007
About Dear Classmates;

It is with great sorrow that I inform you that one of our fellow HHS Class of 1997 classmates has passed away. Matt Stadley lost his battle with colon cancer in late September, which is one of the reasons why Matt was unable to attend our 10 year reunion. Below is his obituary that was published in the Ravalli Republic Newspaper earlier this week. Please take a moment to think about Matt and his family and friends; he will be missed by many.

*********************************************************************
BOISE, IDAHO - Matt Standley, 28, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, at his home in Boise after fighting a courageous battle against colon cancer. Matt faced his battle against cancer with determination and a sense of humor. He always focused on the blessings that he had in his life, mainly all the love and support he received from his friends and family.

Matt is survived by his daughter, Molly Standley; his parents, Steve and Linda Standley; his brother, Nate Standley; sister-in-law, Jen Bebee; and his girlfriend, Kodi Hirst.

Matt was born May 20, 1979 in Southern California to Steve and Linda Standley. He spent his childhood exploring the California desert with his brother and discovering rock music, which became Matt's greatest love. Matt moved with his family to Hamilton while in high school, graduating from Hamilton High School in 1997. Matt traveled to Texas and Spokane, but he always returned to the valley. Matt recently worked at Specialty Woodworks and as a DJ at the Rainbow Bar.

Matt was easily recognized by his signature leather jacket and black beanie. Matt's greatest love was music. He was happiest when playing in a band. He was known for his laid back demeanor, kindness and his sense of spirit that can only be described as chimpy. Matt had a great appreciation for life. It was an honor to be a part of that life. Matt is leaving us with thousands of memories, for which we will always be grateful. We miss you, Chimpy.
