About | GREAT FALLS — Philip Michael Miller, 59, passed away peacefully May 2, 2018, at the Missouri River Center in Great Falls, following a lengthy illness. Phil was born February 9, 1959, in Hamilton to Conrad Miller and Barbara Reinbold Miller. He grew up surrounded by friends, and he spent many wonderful summers with his visiting cousins riding bikes, camping and swimming in the city pool and the Bitterroot River. In his high school years Phil loved to work on cars with his dad and brother, and he became known as ‘Corvair Phil’ after his special affinity for Chevy Corvairs. In 1978, Phil graduated from Hamilton High School and joined the United States Air Force. He served honorably in Germany until 1983, then returned home to Montana. He married Faye Flickinger of Great Falls and they had two sons, Sean and Doug. Phil’s greatest love was playing the piano. He played in nursing homes, at community social events and in local establishments, enriching the lives of all who heard him play. He was kind to everyone and always had a joke ready to make one smile. He had few regrets when he passed and was accepting and thankful for all that life had given him. Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Barbara Miller. He’s survived by his sons, Sean and Doug, Great Falls; his brother Richard and wife Shirley, Waco, Texas; his uncle Dick Reinbold of Hamilton; two nephews, and many cousins and friends. The family is deeply grateful for the professional care Philip received from the Fort Harrison Veterans Administration Hospital in Helena. A memorial is planned for a later date. Cremation will take place in Great Falls with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton. |
