About | Arthur Edward Hansmire was born on July 17, 1940 in Fairbury, Neb. He died unexpectedly on August 31, 2007. He graduated from Fairbury High School in 1959 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1965 with a M.S. degree in civil engineering. He worked for Leon A Daly for 41 years. He served on assignments around the world and relocating his family from Omaha to Singapore, Santa Clarita and Hong Kong. He retired in September 2006. He was an avid traveler, runner, golfer and reader and took advantage of his retirement to explore new interests. He met Rachel Moritz on a blind date and they were married six months later. They recently celebrated their 41st anniversary. Preceding him in death was his father, Lester and mother, Irene. Survivors include his wife: daughters, Michelle and her husband, Ewan and Melinda and her husband, Ed; brother, Gerald and his wife, Audrey; grandchildren, Aidan, Lizetta, Emma and Iain. Services were Sept. 7 at Christ Lutheran Church in Santa Clarita. In lieu, memorial gifts can be made to the University of Nebraska Foundation in care of Arthur E.
