About Sharon Peterson was born May 31, 1941, to Earl R and Ruth Frank McKay. She died Sept. 9, 1985, at Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 44 years, three months and nine days.
She was baptized June 1941 and confirmed April 1955 in Fairbury, Nebraska.
Her elementary education was received in Fairbury and she graduated from Fairbury High School in 1959. She attended Immanuel School of Nursing in Omaha, Neb., and graduated as a registered nurse. She also received a scholarship from Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing and graduated from there. She was a registered nurse for Tacoma General Hospital.
On Aug. 5, 1962, she married James L. Peterson of Omaha at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury and to this union were born two sons.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chambers Creek Orthopedic Guild and Republican Women’s Club.
Preceding her death was her father on Dec. 27, 1961.
Survivors include her husband, James L., and sons, Theodore and Terrance of Tacoma; mother, Ruth McKay of Fairbury; sister, Beverly Delk of Omaha; brother, Albert McKay of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces Chantelle and Jessica Delk of Omaha, Amy and Kari McKay of Phoenix; uncle and aunt, Mr. And Mrs. A.C. Frank of Fairbury.
Services were Sept. 13 at Christ Lutheran Church in Tacoma with the Rev. Torvend officiating. Interment in the new Tacoma Cemetery.
Out-state relatives; attending the service were her mother, Mr. And Mrs. Mack Delk of Omaha, Albert McKay of Phoenix and the Rev. Royal Peterson of Lincoln.
