About | Moser Memorial Chapel Funeral & creamation Richard "Jack" Crawford | 1939 - 2016 | Obituary Richard Richard "Jack" Crawford September 09, 1939 - June 18, 2016 U.S. Veteran Richard “Jack” Crawford, 76, of Fremont, NE, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at his home. Jack was born September 9, 1939, in Fremont to Richard and Leona (Hansen) Crawford. Jack was a 1957 graduate of Fremont High School. After school he enlisted in the US Navy and served from July 11, 1958 to July 10, 1962. Jack married Dorothy Hetrick on July 10, 1960, at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, NE. Jack was employed at the Nebraska Natural Gas Company and later worked at the Chevy Dealership in Fremont as sales manager. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Jack was a member of the Fremont Masonic Lodge #15 A.F. and A.M. and was a Master Mason, and was a member of the Fremont Shrine Club. He previously was a member of the Fremont Sertoma Club and the Fremont Jaycees, and served on the board of directors for the Nebraska Heart Association. Jack was an avid Nascar fan and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed watching Nebraska football on Saturdays. He coached softball and Jack loved vacationing and spending time with his family and friends Jack is survived by his wife Dorothy of Fremont; son, Tom (Noelle) Crawford of Fremont; daughter, Elizabeth Carnahan of Bondurant, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Brice and Haley Carnahan, Austin, Alyssa, and Keira Crawford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents in law; sisters in law, Pat Byers and Bonnie Parish; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Fremont. The Rev. Greg Hall will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, and continue Wednesday at church 1 hour prior to service. The burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with military honors conducted by he Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the ALS Foundation in Omaha or Lincoln or to the First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
