About | Dennis Glenn Vanosdall, 69 of Las Vegas passed away May 23, 2017 at his home after a long battle with COPD. Dennis was born August 16, 1947 in Grand Island, Ne to T. Glenn Vanosdall and Betty M. Horst Vanosdall. He was raised in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1965. Dennis served in the United States Army from 1965-1969. Upon receiving his discharge, he attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Engineering. He later returned to Grand Island where he was employed as a journeyman electrician at his father's business, Van's Electric, before starting his and operating his own business, Electrical Contractors, Inc until 2002. In 2003 he and his wife Ann moved to Las Vegas where he worked for Clark County as an electrical inspector up to his retirement from the Clark County Water Reclamation District in the fall of 2012. Dennis is a lifelong car racer and as a member of both the NHRA and CRCA. He was a 26 year member of the American Legion. He was baptised in 2011 at Bright Angel Church of Christ , Las Vegas. He enjoyed living at Kuester Lake while in Grand Island. His hobbies included fishing, drag racing, MASCAR, puzzles and playing Solitare. Dennis is survived by his wife Ann and their dog Max of Las Vegas. his mother Betty Vanosdall of Grand Island, two sons, Shawn Vanosdall of Jutan, Ne and Scott (Macey) Vanosdall of Omaha, Ne., two stepdaughters, Lacy (Nick) Meinke of Lincoln, Ne and Lindsey Hameloth of Las Vegas and one sister, Julie (John) Doescher of Grand Island. Also survived by seven grandchildren. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Bright Angel Church of Christ in Las Vegas. A memorial will also be held in Nebraska at a later date. Dennis was cremated per his wishes. |
