About | Gloria Elyse (Rezac) Hamik, of Haven Home of Kenesaw died, Tuesday, December 6, 2005 after a long battle with diabetes and cancer. Gloria Rezac was born on October 18, 1947 to Edward & Elsie (Gloor) Rezac at Atkinson, Nebraska. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Atkinson and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1965. On April 5, 1969, she married Clarence Hamik at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. They separated in 1996. She moved to Hastings in 1969, where she resided until moving to Kenesaw. She was employed by Omaha National Bank in Grand Island as a keypunch and computer operator and in later years as a floral designer at Bartz Floral in Grand Island and Geranium Hill in Hastings. She was a very active member of the B.P.O. Does Grand Island Drove # 147. She served two years as President and later served eleven years as Drove secretary. She also served as a District President and District Secretary. She did other volunteer work in the Grand Island and Hastings communities. Survivors include her mother, Elsie Rezac of Grants Pass, Oregon; 5 sisters Mrs Sue (Gary) Ellermeier, Hastings, NE.;Mrs. Janet (Tony) Bruno, Phoenix, AZ; Mrs. Nancy (Steve)McLean, Grants Pass, OR.; Patricia Rezac, Grants Pass, OR and Michelle Button, Grants Pass, OR. |
