About | Jack Richardson, 71, of Grand Island passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at CHI Health St. Francis surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Grand Island on February 11, 1947, son of Junior and Daisy (Starkey) Richardson. As a lifelong resident of Grand Island, Jack graduated from Grand Island Senior High School with the class of 1965. He continued his education and attended college. On July 3, 1969, he was united in marriage to Carol Straube. They made their home in Grand Island and were blessed with two children, Richard and Jennifer. Jack worked construction and at Tri-City Wholesale when he was younger. For many years he was employed by Wheelers in the tire department and went on to Sears after Wheelers closed. Jack was never without a book or several. He loved to read and would often re-read some of his favorite books. Jack also enjoyed card games, bowling, bingo, golf, keno and pool. In his spare time he enjoyed doodling often drawing horses or roses. Jack enjoyed family time riding his Harley on the open road. He passed his artistic ability and love of math to his grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Jack felt time was best spent with a good book and a glass of tea. Jack's memory is cherished by his wife, Carol of Grand Island; children Richard Richardson of Grand Island and children, Michelle & Jason; Jennifer (Kirk) Jenneman of Grand Island and children, Anthony, Ceara, Ashley, Maclean, Aiden, Haley and Sophia.Great- grandchildren, Bryton, Layla and Autumn; brother Kyle Richardson of Grand Island; sister, Gale (Terry) Freeburg of Lincoln; Aunt Faye Brown of Grand Island along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. |
