Kraig Kirkland, 47, of North Platte died Sunday, July, 16 1995. Kraig was born July 29, 1947 to Laurence and Lora (Hongsermeier) Kirkland. Kraig was raised and educated in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1965. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1972 working first in Grand Island and later North Platte. He began working as a member of the steel gang and advanced to a management position as Yardmaster in the North Platte Yards. He also worked as a locomotive engineer on runs between North Platte and Council Bluffs, Iowa or North Platte and Marysville, Kansas. His lifelong hobbies were hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Meg; son Clint and his wife Amy and daughters Amy and Debra and her husband Eric Houser, two grandsons; Austin and Tanner Houser, four brothers; Kenneth, Karl, Kevin, Kohl, three sisters; Kalene Sherffius, Kim McBride, Karen Rohweder. |
