| About | Peter "Larry" Moreno 66 of Grand Island died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at home, following a lengthy illness.Larry was laid to rest with military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps and United Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Moreno was born May 4, 1947 in Grand Island, the son of Marcus"Mike" and Louise (Ramirez) Moreno. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Sharon; two sons, Michael & Anthony Moreno of Grand Island, a daughter Jennifer Moreno of Denver, Co ; brothers Vincent, Mike, Stanley (Janice) Moreno and Joachim"tony" Moreno all of Grand Island and sisters, Henry (Pete) Escobar, Cynthia White, Betty Moreno of Grand Island and Tina (Joe) Mohr of North Platte. Also to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Alexis, Ashley, Michael and Aaliya Moreno and a faithful companion, Chica. Larry grew up in Grand Island and received his education at Grand Island Senior High graduating with the class of 1965. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. On April 19, 1974, he was united in marriage to Sharon Louise Judge in Grand Island. Larry spent over 30 years employed by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, VFW, Paralyzed Veterans of America and Disabled Veterans of America. He loved time spent with family, especially the grandchildren. |
