About | (October 24, 1947 - November 5, 2014) U.S. Veteran age 67 years, of Omaha. Preceded in death by son James R. Hooker; parents Wilda and Ray Hooker. Survived by wife Linda; daughter Kameron Brooks; daughter-in-law Trish Hooker; granddaughters Natastia and Cheyenne; brothers Kirk (Charlene) Hooker and family, Quentin Hooker; sister Carolyn Renner and family; brothers-in-law Bill (Michelle) Kirkpatrick and family, Bob (Carla) Kirkpatrick and family; sisters-in-law Janice Kirkpatrick and family, Donna (Jay) Federico and family; aunt Frances Hooker and family; uncle Hank Rasmussen; many cousins and numerous friends. After serviing in the U.S. Navy Seabees in Vietnam, Max returned to Grand Island, NE to work with his father and uncle at the family company of Hooker Brothers Inc. Max's proudest project was the Calamus Dam in Burwell, NE. After retiring in 2003, Max moved to Omaha to be with his family. In retirement, Max took on several jobs at First Presbyterian Church including the Choir, Building and Grounds, Finance, Hospitality and Fellowship, Trustees Past and Present, Treasurer, Money-Counter, Budget/Stewardship, WND Cook and twice the Pastor Nominating Committee. And yet, his greatest job was being a superhero to his two beautiful granddaughters. Visitation Sunday, November 9th, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service Monday, November 10th, 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church (216 S. 34th Str). Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Military honors by VFW Post 2503 Honor Guard.
