| About | Cozad resident, 65 KEARNEY - Shirley A. Buswell, 65, of Cozad died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Family services will be later. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements. She was born Sept. 16, 1947, in Grand Island to Frank and Erma (Ray) Shriner. On Oct. 1, 1981, she married Ron Buswell in Kearney. Survivors include her husband; stepsons, Travis Buswell of Lenexa, Kan., and Troy Buswell of Grove City, Ohio; mother-in-law, Aline Buswell of Topeka, Kan.; cousins, Linda Giddings, Larry Giddings and Amy Smith, all of Kearney; and numerous other cousins. She attended and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School. Shirley worked at Kmart and Morris Press as a proofreader in Kearney. She and Ron moved to Johnson Lake and then to Cozad. Shirley enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially holiday gatherings at the lake. She was an avid bowler. She was preceded in death by her parents.
