About Kevin was born at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha Nebraska on Sunday, January 30, 1983. Entered into rest with the Lord on September 2, 2014. Kevin lived in Gretna most of his life attending Gretna Elementary, Middle and High Schools graduating with honors in May of 2001. He attended church with his family at the Word of Life Alliance church in Gretna where he was involved in the AWANA program memorizing many verses from the Bible during hand book time. He enjoyed the circle games and the enormous banana split at the end of the each year. He accepted Christ and was baptized in 1997 while attending a Christ in Youth (CIY) camp. Kevin then attended Kansas State for one year, transferring to the University Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating from The University of Nebraska at Omaha in May of 2007. Kevin kept busy delivering newspapers on weekends through out high school. He also worked in Omaha at Wright Printing where his father works. He loved being busy. For a fun thing he was part of the 4H program building mostly rockets and models.

During college Kevin then chose to enter the Military.
Kevin's achievement include: (4) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (two with Combat "V"), (1) Combat Action Ribbon,(4) Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, (3) Afghanistan Campaign Medals, (1) Global War of Terrorism Service Medal, (1) National Defense Service Medal, (1) Presidential Unit Citation, (1) Navy Unit Commendation, (1) NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan. Kevin's Combat History: Operation Enduring Freedom May 2009 - November 2009 (2d Battalion, 8th Marines), Awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with "V", Received the NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, Received the Presidential Unit Citation, Received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with one star). Operation Enduring Freedom November 2010 - May 2011 (Battery B, 1st Battalion, 10th Marines), Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with "V" (2nd award), Received the Navy Unit Commendation, Received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2nd star), Received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2nd star), Operation Enduring Freedom May 2012 - November 2012 (2d ANGLICO), Received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3rd star), Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award), Received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd star). Operation Enduring Freedom November 2013 - June 2014 (2d ANGLICO), Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th award), Received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4th star).

Preceded in death by grandmother Anita J. Nicholson; uncle Donald E. Jolliffe Jr., Grandfather Donald E. Jolliffe Sr., Grandmother Marvine L. Jolliffe, Step-Grandmother Gerry Jolliffe. Survived by parents, Donna L. and Thomas P. Nicholson of Gretna, NE; sister Melanie Wellman of Ceresco, NE, brother-in-law Bryan Wellman of Ceresco, niece Aubrey J. Wellman of Ceresco; grandfather Bricie B, Nicholson, Wakefield, NE; also, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
