About | Published July 25, 2023 Gary Raymond Ainsworth was born on Nov. 12, 1958 in Reno, NV to James C. and Irene Ainsworth. He was the youngest of seven children. In 1976, Gary graduated from Sparks High School and joined the Air Force. After the service he returned to Sparks and went to work at Silver Dollar Signs, joining his brother Jim. Due to a job related injury, Gary returned to school, studying residential design and found his true calling. His special talent is on display throughout Northern Nevada. Accredited with designing hundreds of beautiful homes, he will have a lasting legacy showcasing his deep commitment to his craft. Gary was proud of his Native American heritage as a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He was an avid golfer, a sport he truly loved. While on vacation at a family reunion in Oklahoma, Gary realized a lifelong dream, a Hole-In-One! Gary will be greatly missed by his large loving family, especially his wife Elizabeth, son John and his wife Trish, brothers Jim (Sandra), Ron (Geri), John (CJ) and Tom (Jennifer), sisters Mary Ann Klinger (Rod) and Patricia Proctor, as well as many, many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of prayers and support. Gary was truly loved by all who knew him. Gary's Military Honors Service and Burial is on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, NV. A Celebration of Gary's Life will follow burial at the Sun Valley Community Center, 115 W. Sixth Ave., Sun Valley, NV (behind the pool) from 3-5 p.m. |
