| About | John Clifton Medcraft passed away on June 25, 2026, born on December 26, 1952, to Donald J. and Violet Lily Medcraft of Sparks, Nevada. John graduated from Sparks High School and attended two years at UNR. John was a General Manager at Skaggs Drug Store on Plumb Lane in Reno. Later he was in sales and then a bartender for the Alibi Lounge in Reno for owner and friend Julie Mitchell. John later worked at Micasa Too, for owner and friend Ricky Paredes. John loved his two corvettes and was huge fan of the SF 49ers. In the 1980s, John would go up to Truckee every weekend to visit his sister Karen and very good friend Paul Bennett to watch football. In 1992 John married the love of his life, Voni. John’s very close friends Jim and Sharon Lombard stood up for him and Voni at their wedding ceremony. John and Voni cooked in many chili cook-offs over the years, and won many awards traveling to the West and East World Cook-offs. In later years after Voni passed away he would go to Carson City and spend weekends with his sister Carol. They would spend many hours visiting and John would always take Carol to breakfast or dinner. John is survived by his sister Carol Krupp of North Carolina, nephews, Larry Krupp, wife Carrie, Gary Krupp, wife Jill, niece, Susan McKinnish, husband David, all of Carson City, and great nieces and nephew, Kendra, Logan, wife Jordan, Taylor, husband Riley, and Haylee. John is also survived by his brother and sister in law Ken and Lynn Pruett of Sparks, son Ryan, and daughters Carrie Berger and Megan Ward, and six grandchildren. John was with them in the last years of his life and loved them very much. John is proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Violet Medcraft, his loving wife Voni, and his sister Karen Stockwell.
