On February 22, 2023 Sharon Efton Eriksen of Reno, Nevada, peacefully entered into eternal life while surrounded by her loved ones. Sharon was born in Vallejo, California, to her parents, Ovie and Juanita Trott, in March of 1944. As a young girl her family moved to Oklahoma where she spent most of her childhood. After leaving Oklahoma, her family made their home in Nevada, where she lived the rest of her life. Her love for Oklahoma and her Native American heritage always held a special place in her heart. Sharon graduated from Sparks High School in 1963 and in that same year married her high school sweetheart Roy Eriksen. Her greatest life’s work was mothering her four boys, and devoting herself to her home and family for 60 years. She always said that her most favorite season in life was when all of her children were home under her feet. Sharon was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she spent countless hours, over many years, loving, serving, and lifting up those who were in need. Her kind and thoughtful heart were just two of the things that made her such a good friend to so many. Aside from taking care of others, Sharon had a love for cooking as well as baking beautiful wedding cakes. She was a collector of Indian dolls, loved working on genealogy, as well as oil painting. Above all her friends and family will miss the love, thoughtfulness, and fun that she brought to their lives. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Roy, and survived by her children: Trevor (Steve), Tristen (Melissa), Travis, and Trinity. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brianna (David) Wendle, Brittany, Logan (Krista), Tayler, Carissa, Jarem (Adeline), Travis, Levi, Jonah, Madelyn and Samantha Eriksen, as well as seven great grandchildren. A funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 2995 Rock Blvd in Sparks on Monday February 27th. The viewing will be at 9:00am, with the funeral starting at 10:00am. |
