About | Deborah (Debbie) A. Latronica Deborah (Debbie] Ann Latronica, beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, and friend, has left this physical plane for the next chapter in her journey. For those of us who loved her it was far, far too early. Debbie was a physically & emotionally strong and spirited woman with a strong will, sharp wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was special to everyone who knew her. Debbie was born in the Brooklyn General Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and spent her early childhood in Queens, Long Island, NY. She was a wonderful child with golden curly hair who embraced everyone she met, but was always OK to be by herself. The family moved to a farm in rural Vineland, NJ where Debbie attended a 1 room schoolhouse, with & grades taught in that 1 room. She loved the farm and animals and her paternal grandparents who lived next door. She went to high school at Vineland high, where she was ever the rebel, and was suspended for bringing the Woodstock album to school to be enjoyed at astembly by all students. After high school she elected not to pursue higher education and to go out on her own. She promptly bought a motorcycle and moved with her friends to an old farmhouse with oil heat & no insulation & nearly froze thru the winter. She soon decided to get a job and settle down with her companion of 22 years, Jim Marshall. Her daughter Rachel was born and grew up in their house in Columbus, NJ. After over 30 years of working, she retired at the age of 53 from the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection, where she was an air and water quality data specialist. She immediately moved to Idaho, where she and her sister danced their way thru Boise. She loved Idaho from the first day she experienced it, and she and Rachel spent their vacation years there from 1981 through 1994. Rachel learned to swim there in her grandmother's pool and spent much of her visits with her Grandmother's best friend's granddaughter Heather Klein. We had wonderful times there. In 2002 her grandmother built a cabin in High Valley between Ola & Smith's Ferry where the family made many wonderful memories. Debbie loved being there and her last days and hours were spent there. She had a hemorrhagic stroice there; where wonderful High Valley neighbors attended her until life flight transferred her to St. Al's emergency room then to St. Luke's ICU for care. She passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 8:11 PM with most all of her family at her side. She leaves so many wonderful memories, a huge void in our lives, and hole in our hearts. She is survived by her mother, Wilma Strohmeier, sister & brother-in-law, Stephanie & Robert VonLintig, nephews, Michael & Matthew VonLintig, of Boise, ID, father & his companion, Anthony J.
