About | Arthur Walter John 81, of Sarasota FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 19th 2015 after a short illness. His wife of over 60 years, Barbara Corson John passed away in 2021. Barbara was also a graduate of Haddonfield Highschool in 1952. Arthur and Barbara had two sons, Robert John of Westfield, N.J., David John of Tarpon Springs, FL and his daughter Carol John of Athens, GA, and his 6 grandsons: Hank Martin, Samuel John, Thomas (TJ) John, William John, Robert John and Jackson Martin. Arthur was born in Camden, New Jersey on August 28 1933. In 1939 Arthur's family moved to Haddonfield, New Jersey where he attended Elisabeth Haddon Elementary School, and Haddonfield High School. When he was 16 and a junior in High School he met his future wife Barbara L Corson, who was a sophomore. Having retiring at age 57, Arthur had a very active life playing tennis, golf, and traveling the world. Every year he returned to South Jersey to spend time with his and Barbara's families. Over the last 81 years Arthur's accomplishments have been significant. He has had a successful career at Mobil Oil, lived on 3 continents, in 4 countries, has lived in over a dozen homes, has 3 children, 6 grandsons, and has had 2 dogs.
