About | ERIC SMITH, AGE 30, HIGHLAND PARK Published in the Home News Tribune 7/16/04 Eric John Smith, 30, of Highland Park died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at his residence. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of Highland Park. He graduated in 1992 from Highland Park High School and received his bachelor's degree in 1998 from Rutgers University. He loved writing and listening to music. He had worked as a tax examiner for the New Jersey Department of Labor (Division of Employer Accounts) in Trenton. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park. He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Donna Templin Smith of Highland Park; a brother, Douglas E. and his wife, Laynie, of Ledgewood; a sister, Tracy Douches and her husband, Brian, of Edison; an uncle, John Templin and his wife, Barbara, of Greenfield Center, N.Y.; three nephews, Brett and Bradley (also his godson) Douches of Edison, and Jacob Smith of Ledgewood, and several cousins. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Ave., Highland Park, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
