About Thomas J. Alercia, 68, of Wilson Borough passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Jeanes Hospital Philadelphia. Thomas and his wife the former Sally Kiefer celebrated 40 years of marriage on January 2nd. He was employed as a line specialist for Ortho Pharmaceutical of Bridgewater, NJ. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Rider University, Raritan Valley and Northampton Community Colleges. He was an active firefighter for Wilson Borough. In 1983 Tom received an award and was honored by Firehouse Magazine for the sixth annual Heroism and Community service award for his role in saving four young children from a burning row home, while on duty for the Wilson Borough Fire Department, during the early morning hours of July 18th. He received an award for heroism from former Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh. Memberships: He was a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club of Phillipsburg, NJ, the Easton Area Corvette Club and he volunteered for MDA and Easton Hospital.
Survivors: In addition to his wife Sally, Thomas is survived by sons, James of Palmer Twp. and David of Northampton.
