About | SENIOR, CHARLES, "Charlie", 45 - of Manahawkin, Stafford Township, passed away Saturday, August 16, at Southern Ocean County Hospital. He was born in Lakewood and was a lifelong area resident. Charlie was a former police officer with Beach Haven police department. He retired from Ocean County Security Department. A U.S. Navy veteran, Charlie was a member of the United Nations peacekeeping force in Bosnia. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach. Charlie was a member of the VFW, Barnegat Light, American Legion Post 1000, Disabled American Veterans, life time member of the NRA, past member of the Beach Haven Vol. Fire Co., Stafford Township Vol. Fire Co., member of PBA Local 175, Long Beach Island. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a volunteer or N.J. Hunter Safety Instruction. Charlie was team captain for Charlie's Angels Relay for Life team. Survived by wife Susan, nee Hetherington, parents Ernest and Mary Senior, Manahawkin, brothers, Ernest H. Senior III, Virginia Beach, Va., Edwin W., Broken Arrow, Ok, sister, Mary "Betty" Hubbs, New Gretna and was the best "GOOFY" uncle to his many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his many Caregivers, Doctors and Nurses from his family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 19 from 7-9 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 134 East Main Street, Tuckerton, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 at the Funeral Home. Services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tuckerton. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
