Raymond (Ray) G. Cole, Jr., 64, passed away at his home on May 22, 2013, after a long, courageous battle with unfair cancer. He was the son of the late Raymond G. Cole, Sr., and the late Elizabeth C. Cole. He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Marci (Nee Whitehead); daughter, Brooke Kerstetter (Todd) and granddaughter, Anniston. He was predeceased by his son, Graham Cole. Also surviving are his loving sisters, Sandra Kenny (Ed) of Barnegat Light, NJ and Diane "Fritzy" Mathis (Michael) of Marietta GA, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ray was born on September 26, 1948 in Teaneck, NJ. He was a 1967 graduate of Tenafly NJ High School and attended Bradley University, Peoria, IL, where he earned a B.A. in International Studies. He was a proud member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Ray loved the outdoors and traveled extensively with his wife. He enjoyed hiking, running, tennis, music & movies. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved meeting people and also had a deep affection for animals. One of his proudest accomplishments was climbing Mt. Rainier in Washington state to honor the memory of his parents. He had many beloved friends and colleagues - too numerous to list. He will be deeply missed by all of those left behind and whose lives he touched and he will be lovingly remembered by his friends and former classmates of THS Class 67. |
