About | Candace Cheryl Paxia, 59, wife of Fred Paxia, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. Candy was born in New Jersey and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1971. Candy was the beloved wife of 38 years to Fred and a beloved mother to their son Andrew. She is survived by her parents, Frank and Josephine Tobias of Green Cove Springs, Florida, her brothers Keith Tobias of Middleburg, Florida and Jeffrey Tobias and his wife Diane of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Candy retired from the Bank of America after 35 years of service. She was extremely active with her church, St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church. She was a member of the vestry, worked with the altar guild, was a greeter and also volunteered her time as a counter. She was also on the board of the retirees of Bank of America. Candy also volunteered her time as a mentor to a high school student and was involved with the Phoenix literacy program. |
