1949 - 2008--Gene attended Lubbock Christian and Oklahoma Christian University. He graduated in 1971 with a degree in Bible and Psychology. While in high school and college, he was an athlete, and has records standing to this day in javelin. During college, he married Martha Randle and they had 3 children, Nathan, Rebecca and Stephen. Gene spent his life in the work of the church. He preached from 1971 -75 in Loop, Tx. He then moved back to Dexter and preached for the Westside Church of Christ for 16 years. He enjoyed music and was the World Yodeling Champion in the '90's. He had an international radio program preaching the gospel of Christ that reached around the world. He died in 2008 from heart problems. He left behind to mourn is passing his siblings, and his 3 children and 3 grandchildren. |
