Events | Curry, Carol Lynn (nee Binis) of East Aurora, NY at age 73. Carol is survived by her beloved husband L. Michael Curry and her daughters Leigh (Jason) Smith and Laura (Jonathan) Vesneske. She was devoted to her five grandchildren Colton Smith, Elizabeth Vesneske, Hollyn Smith, Emmett Vesneske, and Elliott Vesneske who lovingly referred to her as "CC". Carol grew up in Clarence, NY. She was predeceased by her parents John Biniszkiewicz and Dorothy Binis (nee Okie) and survived by her three younger siblings; Jessica (Bradley) Batt, Michael (Sharon) Binis, and Catherine (Robert) Green. She cherished her siblings and remained close with them over the years. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews, including Samatha (Barry) Hoffman with whom she shared a special bond. A graduate of D'Youville College, Carol served as a skilled and compassionate nurse for over thirty years. She specialized in home care and hospice, working in both Western New York and New Hampshire. Carol provided comfort to countless patients. It was her personable approach that made a difference. Carol was also a dog lover. She is now reunited with Maggie, Spike, Charlie, Hope, Cooper, Hutch, and Sinbad and is deeply missed by Milo and Gunner. Carol advocated for rescue animals and was a long-standing supporter of the SPCA. Along with rescue dogs, Carol's passions included traveling with Michael and exploring towns across New England and the Finger Lakes. They share special memories boating in Winnipesaukee, Canandaigua, and Keuka Lakes. Her love for the water started at a young age having spent summers with extended family on Lake Erie at their family property. She passed her love of the water to all of her grandchildren who loved swimming in her pool and showing her their best jumps into the lake. Carol held endless pride for her grandchildren, showing up at dance, swimming, soccer, hockey, football, and concerts. She regularly surprised them at school lunch and braved the elementary school cafeteria. Her love for them was deep; she never said no and always showed up with a treat. Her grandchildren will carry "CC" in their hearts forever. Carol will be deeply missed by relatives, friends, and her blended family. She remained close with her first husband, Gregory (Michelle) Oehler; father of their three children, Leigh, Laura and the late Katie Lynn Oehler. She shares fond memories with her stepsons Sean (late Amy) Curry, Daniel Curry, Brendan (Katie) Curry, the late Terrence (Mia) Curry, and Michael's six grandchildren. Immediate family is honoring Carol's life privately. Flowers declined; the family graciously requests donations be made to the SPCA Serving Erie County in Carol's name (yourspca.org/carolcurry/). It would bring her great joy in knowing her legacy is helping save and care for animals. Published by Buffalo News on Sep. 1, 2024. |
