Events Richard W. Fulton, 68, of 48382 Goose Bay Road and Fort Pierce, Fla., died Monday at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Fla.

Mr. Fulton was a New York state trooper, first stationed in Massena and then at Alexandria Bay, retiring from the force in 1979. He was a horse farm manager in Baldwinsville and Elgin, Ill. He owned Pirate Realty, United Country-Fulton Real Estate and R.W. Fulton (Broker), selling the businesses in August 2007. He also owned Thousand Islands Appraisals, retiring in 2008.

Born March 14, 1940, in Indiana County, Pa., son of Charles and Geneva Fulton, he graduated from Clarence Central School in 1958 and from the New York State Police Academy in 1962.

A marriage ended.

He was a charter member of the Thousand Islands Sportsmen's Club and a member of the Alexandria Bay Rotary Club, Police Benevolent Association, Black Horse Chapter of the New York State Retired Troopers Association, Elks Lodge 1520, Fort Pierce, and ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) of New York, Jefferson County Chapter, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his companion of 25 years, Nancy Felder Hunter, Redwood and Fort Pierce; three sons and their wives, Michael and Joni, Imperial Beach, Calif., Patrick and Colleen, Redwood, and Bernard and Kate, Cortland; a daughter, Kristine Fulton, Jupiter, Fla.; a brother, Roger, Glens Falls; seven grandchildren, and his companion's children, Jeffrey and Margaret Hunter, Palm City, Fla., and Julie Hunter, Marysville, Wash.

A celebration of life will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Local arrangements are with Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. Donations may be made to River Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 567, Alexandria Bay, N.Y. 13607.
