Edward J Winters Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1968
Date of Passing Dec 02, 2013
About Ed is what most people called him. He was Eddie to me. While he didn’t make it across the stage for graduation, he was a student of JAHS. We were best friends since I was 15 and he was 17. We met at Youth Club. We remained friends until the day he died. Saw each other through the worst of times and best of times. He was a true hippie and a great guy. Always kept me laughing. I am sure someone has to remember him. He was very musically talented, played Guitar, harmonica, piano, just about anything by ear. Tall 6’3”. Beautiful blue eyes, and a rough childhood. He made the best of things. Saw him through 2 marriages, loss of a child, and his 2nd daughter just married in 2018. Eddie and my husband became friends, which spoke volumes. I miss him everyday. Eddie was kind but made most people think he was tough. He had 3 sisters. He referred to himself as bi-coastal as he moved back and forth from CA to NY. He lived his final years in NY where he raised and lived with his daughter who was his world.

Events July 16th, 2025, my husband Joe, joined Eddie. I woke in the morning to find him dead next to me he had just turned 55 on April 21, 1970. Yes I was that much older than my husband. Eddie and Joe even though the age difference between them was 19 ½ yeara had so much in common. Eddie was always the one I would call. when I needed a shoulder if it was something I could not tell anyone he would be the one I could tell. They are both gone from planet earth now! It really sucks… April 22, 2026
