About | David B. Clifford, age 72, died on July 4, 2019 at his home in The Villages, FL. David grew up in Jordan, New York, one of 4 siblings of Raymond and Winona Clifford. In High School, he excelled at basketball, baseball, and football (as an offensive tackle). His prized automobile was his black 1969 Pontiac GTO. Dave is survived by his wife, Debbie, three children: Brian Clifford, Jessica Berkman, Angela Dominque, and stepson Adam Catanzarite. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Harley Dominique, Paul Dominque Jr., Thomas Dominique, Samual Dominique, Tyler Berkman, Parker Berkman, and Cora Catanzarite. David was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and Air Force Achievement Award. He served almost four years with distinction as a Staff Seargant and C-130 Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, United States Air Force in Vietnam, including aiding a typhoon evacuation in Kunsan, Korea. The discipline, humility, and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, as friends and family will attest. Following his military service, David worked for New York Telephone Co. and as a Century 21 Realtor, and retired after 33 years. A mass will be held Saturday, August 24 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church (212 Main St. Massena, N.Y.) and a celebration of life ceremony will follow at 12:00pm at The American Legion (40 E. Orvis St. Massena, N.Y.). |
