About | George Jr, Carl J. (Butch), died unexpectedly at his home on January 22, 2019. Beloved husband of Barbara D. George, who survives, loving father of Nathan D. (Larissa) and Stephen J. (Leah), devoted grandfather of Abigale, Sarah, Emma, Mikala, Brooke, Benjamin, and Elise, brother of Elaine (Jack) Stumpf, Anne Luscher (Bob Jones), Leon (Mary Flood) and Mary (John) Woods, step-brother of Charles (Diane) Miller, Mary (Richard) Cusimano, Sally Jones, Michael Miller (Linda Collart), Patrick (Pamela) Miller and Eileen Miller (Daryl Rogers). Also survived by sister-in-law, Anita D. Brown (John) and brother-in-law, Cappy Dominick, and many nieces and nephews. Carl was born June 3, 1946, the son of Carl J, Sr and Marguerite McCormick. Carl graduated from Arcade Central School in 1964, and went into a partnership with his father on the family dairy farm, Car-Bu Farm. On October 17, 1970, he married Barbara Dominick at St. Patrick Church, Java Center, NY and together they operated and expanded Car-Bu Farms LLC. Carl was a founding member of WNY Crop Management Assoc., member of the NYS Holstein Association, several dairy related cooperatives, and Board member of Cornell Cooperative Extension Catt. Co. He held numerous offices, confirming his belief in the value of registered Holsteins, conservation and productive agriculture in WNY. In later years, he enjoyed the associations and friendship of horseback trail riding with the Aurora Trail Riders and Creekside Roundup. Carl enjoyed many hours riding his big horse, Frank, who predeceased him. Butch was known for his playfulness, upbeat attitude and love of a good joke. He believed in adventure, and this spirit lead to many memorable travels he and Barbara took together with family and friends. Butch was often the one organizing family gatherings, reunions, and making sure that the kids got horse rides along with a chance to drive the Gator. He loved showing cattle with his grandchildren at the Cattaraugus County Fair, especially the Best Three Females Class. Truly, Butch felt that his beloved family was his greatest achievement. Funeral Arrangements are by W.S. Davis Inc., 358 West Main Street, Arcade, NY. Relatives and friends may call Sunday Jan 27th 1-5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jos. Gullo at St Mary’s Arcade Worship Site, at 10:00 AM of Jan 28th. Interment Siloam Cemetery.
