About | Barbara Duffy Obituary Barbara Lee Duffy June 15, 1946 - December 31, 2020 Lexington, Kentucky - Barbara Lee Duffy, 74, of Lexington and widow of William Robert Duffy passed away Dec. 31, 2020. She was born to the late Harry C. Boice and Marjorie Mae Wendel Boice on June 15, 1946 in Kingston, PA. She was a dedicated Catholic, involved with several parishes in both Lexington, KY and Avalon, NJ. She attended SUNY-Alfred and went on to a successful career as an administrative assistant at IBM where she met her husband Bill. She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend and grandmother. Throughout the years she lived in upstate New York, Boston, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Kentucky. Barbara had a special connection to the beach in Avalon, NJ where she spent many summers with friends and family. She was an avid animal lover and had a unique place in her heart for her beloved Golden Retrievers. Survivors include her children, Jennifer Duffy, Erin (Christopher) Rehm, Matthew (Carly) Duffy, Meghan Duffy, and Katherine (Eric) Krueger; grandchildren, Liam and Finnegan Duffy and Grace and Emilia Krueger; sisters, Sally (Roy) Guarino and Nancy Smyth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her services in Lexington will be private. A memorial service and burial in Avalon, NJ will be planned for later in 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the American Lung Assn.
