About | Dr. Charles Joseph Lynch Jr. ("Chuck"), long-time resident of Santa Barbara, passed away April 4, 2015 after a prolonged illness. Charlie, son of Charles Sr. and Grayce, brother of Fred was "born in Brooklyn and raised on the Island". He received his doctorate of education, psychology counseling from University of San Francisco. His impact on, and empathy for, the patients he treated at Cottage Hospital Emergency Department will be felt for years. His Jewish identity was important to him. He cherished the time he spent with his children every night saying the Sh'ma and was especially inspired by the prayers sung by the cantor and Congregation B'nai Brith. Dr. Lynch is survived by his wife Christine, and his three children, Charles III, Sean and Rebecca, from a previous marriage to Michal. He also leaves his niece Karen, grand-niece Fiona, and nephew Erik. Charlie was intelligent, caring, determined, and opinionated. He will be remembered for his love of the Dodgers, wild stories of New York characters, and sense of humor. Thanks for the great care from all of his physicians, the staff of Cottage Hospital and Nursecore. |
