About | Gayle was Math Teacher at Williamsville North High School from 1969, until her retirement in November, 1992. She was a fixture in the Math Department and served as school treasurer for a number of years. She was Assistant Principal for two years, from 1989-1991. Gayle was married to husband, Howard, from November 1960, until his death, in 2001. She was an avid deer hunter, meeting Howard at a rifle range, where she was the student and he, the teacher. Fittingly and in the style of the Fish Family, Howard and Gayle went hunting on their honeymoon, and bagged 4 deer. "Mom", Gayle was affectionately known at North for, because all four of her sons, Jim, Bill, Tom, and Chuck, attended high school. She even had Bill and Chuck, as students...twice! She was well loved by all her colleagues and kids, often being their favorite teacher. She is well missed by all and one of her greatest traits, was she could look out at the classroom and write on the board with the numbers and/or letters in absolute perfect straight horizontal lines. She was a devout Lutheran parishioner and very fond of watching her sons play high school sports. |
