About | Asheville – Annette Evelina Sawyer Watts, 67, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her residence while surrounded by her family. A native of Stow, Massachusetts, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, Class of 1975 where she played the flute in the Marching Band. Her love of music continued throughout her life. In her professional career she was a dedicated Bookkeeper for Ingles for more than 30 years. Annette loved the Lord and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Canton. Annette was always full of laughter, which many times came with joyous tears, that would infect everyone around her with more laughter. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as the Queen of making the greatest “nana puddin” at all the family get togethers, which will never be the same without her. She leaves behind many, many special memories, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Annette was a daughter of the late Roscoe Wood Sawyer, Sr. and Mary Frances Wiseman Sawyer, and the wife of the late Kenneth “Speedy” Watts who passed away in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roscoe “Ross” Wood Sawyer, Jr; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Frances Slusher; and brothers-in-law: Jack Tobin, and Douglas Watts. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Adam Scott Watts and wife Mara; grandchildren: Sawyer Watts, Henley Watts, and Zylie Watts; siblings: Mary Lou Sawyer Tobin, Katherine Clara Sawyer, Alan Dale Sawyer and wife Mary, Theodore “Teddy” Dean Sawyer and wife Patty, Elizabeth Irene Sawyer Bunting and husband Floyd, Caroline Hope Sawyer Bass and husband Todd, Stephen Adam Sawyer and wife Sandra, Scott Mark Sawyer and wife Crystal, Christopher Victor Sawyer and wife Cathy, and Susan Joy Sawyer Brinegar and husband Jeff; sisters-in-law: Elaine Sawyer, Connie Watts Woods and husband Dennis, and Jewel Watts Suttle; brother-in-law, Conn Slusher; mother-in-law, Alberta Watts; and many precious nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who affectionately called her “Uncle Net”. A memorial service will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Dan Page and Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday immediately following the service at the funeral home.
