About |
In 1981, my brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer a few years after HHS in Hickory. He would go to Duke University Medical Center to take his monthly chemotherapy treatments for a good while. Deciding that he would rather live the best life he could without chemo, he went totally against our parents prayers and wishes plus doctors advice and lived that way with his fiance', Amy Moore, of Gastonia.until he died in February of 1987. He lived in Hollywood, California and was a musician. Keyboards, singer, trumpet and saxaphone player. He was in the Band, Stage Band and a competitive swimmer years when he started in the 9-10 age group for the Hickory Seahorse Swimteam. He won many trophies, ribbons and medals at swim meets locally, statewide and also at regional levels. Breaststroke was his specialty, individually and with three others in the Medley relays. He was quite and shy to most people at HHS but had a number of friends that he was very close with. |
