About Bennett Jay Kryzsko, 31, son of Francis and Carolyn Kryzsko of Grand Forks, ND, was struck by a car and killed while riding his bike Monday, April 3, 2000 in Chicago, Il.

Bennett was born June 22, 1968 in Grand Forks, ND. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, attending St. Michael's and Valley Jr., and graduating from Grand Forks Central High School in 1986. He worked for Royal Covers in Mesa, AZ for 3 years and returned to Grand Forks and attended UND. Bennett graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1995. Following graduation, he began working at the Northwestern Medical Center in Chicago and was currently employed by Hand Surgery, Ltd. in Chicago. Bennett was chairman of the Chicago Metro Hand Study Group; member of the American Society of Hand Therapists; and member of the American Occupational Therapists Association.

Bennett was an avid cyclist who biked back and forth to work each day, he also enjoyed hiking and traveling. Bennett was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who always made a special effort to spend time and have fun with his nieces and nephews.

Bennett is survived by his parents of Grand Forks, his brothers: Tom, of Egan, MN and Patrick (Denise), of Overland, MO; his sisters: Jane (Mike) Belcher, of Fargo, Judy (Sid) Dvorak, of Minto, ND, and Lisa (Trent) Ertman, of Grand Forks; his special companion, Debbie Patnaude of Chicago; Nephews: Joseph, Jordan, Skylar, Jonathan, Reilly, and Jacob; his nieces: Jewell and Alexis; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Al and Margaret Kryzsko and Lawrence and Eleanore Schultz.
