Deborah was born June 5, 1962, in McVille, ND the daughter of Gerald and Joanne (Olson) Brennan. She graduated from Mandan High School in 1981 and went on to attend Bismarck State College. Deb graduated from the University of North Dakota with her 4-year degree. She joined the National Guard in July 1982 and was commissioned as an officer in 1988. Deb loved the National Guard and all it stands for, and she absolutely loved and respected all her comrades in arms. Deb had the opportunity to serve in Germany, Honduras, and Panama, during her years with the National Guard. She had a huge heart and loved serving others in the military as well as her life outside the military. Deb loved sports-both playing and watching. She especially enjoyed Sioux Hockey and the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. The staff and residents would come to her room for score updates and player information. Deb touched the lives of her fellow residents at NCHS Care Center, the staff, volunteers, and clergy, and she developed a special bond with several roommates through her time there. Deb was the only resident to have a motorized wheelchair in the care center and she was a real "NASCAR Nellie" in those halls as she made her way to meal times and activities. Deb is survived by her parents, Joanne Brennan, McVille, ND, and Gerald Brennan, Bismarck, ND; her brother, Don Brennan, Cambria, CA; her sister, Kristi Jo (Bill) Fetsch, Bismarck; her niece, Jessica Ann Fetsch, Bismarck; along with numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and her North Dakota National Guard family.
