About Mr. Shannon Talley


Mr. Shannon David Talley, age 81 of Big Canoe, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his caring family. He is survived by his loving Wife of 46 years: Catherine Talley of Big Canoe; his children, that he was so proud of along with their spouses, Son and Daughter-In-Law: Dr. Tim and Kelly Frost of Alamogordo, NM; Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Patricia and Brian Moss of Acworth, Rebecca and Ken MacLeod of MA, Heidi and Wayne Littlefield of Marietta and Dr. Diane Darling of London, OH; 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Mr. Talley was preceded in death by his Mother: Geneva Wert and Father: Clyde Talley.

Mr. Talley was born in Mansfield, OH. He also lived in Ashland, OH for many years, later moving to Dunwoody, GA in 1971.

He was a CEO in the Food Service Industry most of his life, in which he was honored with many prestigious awards. He developed Polar Foods in Ashland, OH. In Atlanta, he was retired from UNIPRO, which was the former NIFDA.

Throughout his life he found pleasure in his many hobbies, which included tennis, golf, fishing, bridge and reading. He spent so much of his life in the company of his many dear friends and family. He and his wife, Catherine, enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world together. His beloved loyal pups “Rascal” and “Mr. Fluff” will miss him dearly.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Mr. Talley’s life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Big Canoe Chapel in Big Canoe, GA. Dr. Jim McCormick and Reverend Lamar Helms will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Donations be made to: Journey Hospice, 5871 Glenridge Dr., Ste 110, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 or Pickens County Habitat for Humanity, 135 Cares Drive, Jasper, GA 30143.

Cagle Funeral Home of Jasper, GA was entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
