About | Alan Scott was on the swim team in high school and later became an assistant manager at the Barberton Natatorium. Later he became a teller at First National Bank of Akron (now known as First Merit) and was soon promoted to Assistant Manager of the Downtown Barberton Branch, under the leadership of Tom Anders. Alan was married to Sherri and they had two boys, Christopher and Justin. They moved to Durham, North Carolina where Alan opened a Massotherpy clinic and later was employed by a Saving & Loan bank. In 1985, Alan was driving home to Ohio with his family to see his father who was in Barberton Citizens Hospital being treated for a masive stroke. As they drove along the West Virginia turnpike, Alan's station wagon was hit head on by an out of control 18 wheeler. Alan was killed instantly and his family suffered various injuries. His wife and 2 boys recovered and are doing fine today. Alan was a kind and generous man who loved his family and animals. He always was looking for ways to make our world a better place. We will never forget him. |
