William J. Haumesser, 85 of Medina went to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born on March 29, 1932 in Mallet Creek, Ohio to the late John and Armella (nee Bihn) Haumesser. He had been a lifelong Medina County resident.

Bill attended York School and St. Mary's High School in Akron, OH. He continued his education at St. Meinrad, in Indiana and St. Mary's Seminary, Cleveland.

He was in the Army during the Korean Conflict and studied in the Army language school in Monterey, CA. He completed his education at Kent State University and taught math for 28 years at Buckeye High School, Medina. Bill had formerly been a member of Our Lady Help of Christians, Litchfield and was presently an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Medina.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Rosemary (nee Simko) of 47 years; adopted sons, John Haumesser and Benjamin Brackman (Peter Haumesser) and many loving nieces and nephews who have been close to him all his life.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Haumesser and sisters, Ruth Keller, Margaret Lanaghan, Eileen Snader, Mary Mericle, Irma Paul, Grace McCaman and Josephine Shook.

Calling hours are from 2 to 6 P.M., Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. Family and Friends are invited to meet for Bill's Funeral Mass at 11 A.M., Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 East Washington St., Medina. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery, 1800 Station Rd., Valley City. In lieu of flowers, please remember the poor of St. Vincent DePaul-St. Francis Xavier Church or the Maryknoll Missions, New York, NY.
