About | Albert (Sonny) Allen Nelson Jr. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, age 81, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at the Veterans Hospital in Marion, Ind. He was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Dennison, Ohio, to Albert A. Nelson Sr. and Josephine (Cush) Nelson. His beloved wife, Pam (Buck) Nelson preceded him in death along with his parents; and sisters, Patricia Tarbert, Diana (Perry) Walker, Martha Coen, and Debbie Nelson. Survivors include his daughter, Pamalee R. Nelson of Pendleton, Ind; son, Fredrick A. Nelson of Leavittsburg, Ohio; daughter- in-law, Christine M. Nelson of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; as well as his three grandchildren: Zacharia Nelson 26, Jacob Nelson 24 and Grace Nelson 17; brother, Jerome B. Nelson Sr. of Mineral City; and sisters, Nancy (Jack) Heston of Zoarville and Mary Francis Nelson. Sonny graduated from Dennison High School in 1948 then enlisted in the Air Force and served as a military policeman in Korea during the war. Upon his honorable discharge, Sonny was employed as a surveyor with the State of Ohio and later retired from the State of Indiana. He was a beloved uncle, brother and friend to many and will be greatly missed. In Lieu of flowers please make contribution to the family to help with funeral costs.
