About | Brian James Brickner LEXINGTON: A man of faith, family and fishing, Brian James Brickner, 52, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014. He was born December 21, 1961, in Tiffin, Ohio to Marylou (Ruffing) and Raphael Brickner. He was a 1980 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University. Brian was a brother in Christ in every sense and was a very welcoming, open man with a huge heart. He was devoted in his study and reading of the Bible, and he enjoyed having fellowship with others and singing hymns. His passion for the well being of others perfectly suited his career as Director of Therapy Services at OhioHealth MedCentral Hospital. His unique sense of "Brian" humor was infectious and he enjoyed entertaining his family with goofy sayings, poems and songs. Dancing and singing karaoke were also favorite pastimes. He enjoyed maintaining the family cars and helped them run long past what anyone could have imagined. Bass fishing on his pontoon boat with his family and float tube fishing with his best friend, Jeff Long, or anyone else he could convince to go, were how he enjoyed spending his time. He loved nature and all God's creatures, furry, feathered and scaly. He spent many hours grooming his dog, Bandit, maintaining his fish aquarium and feeding, as well as, holding his lizards. Traveling to the Philippines with his family and making lasting memories with the ones he loved were of utmost importance to Brian. His family enjoyed his mystery meal cooking and there wasn't a Filipino dish Brian wouldn't try. He was tough with his discipline but soft around the edges. Education was important and he was very involved in school activities with his children throughout the years. He taught his children to love God and others, to lead faith filled lives, to work hard, and to face life with a smile. Brian put others before himself, and the importance of loving one another is a legacy that touched so many lives. He will never be forgotten by his family and friends and the lessons learned from a life enthusiastically lived will continue to inspire his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ginaleen Conol Brickner; children, Dr. Nicholas (Katie) Brickner of Augusta, GA, Sarah (Paul) Mann of Columbus, OH and Meghan Brickner of Akron, OH; father, Raphael Brickner of Findlay, OH; four brothers and sisters, Dr. Steve (Esta) Brickner of Ledyard, CT, Barbara (Chuck) Weaver of Galion, OH, Lisa (Karl) Schwalenberg of Toledo, OH, Dr. Anthony (Aimee) Brickner of Wexford, PA; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark Conol of Palm Bay, FL, Dr. Rinna (Dr. Anthony) Johnson of San Antonio, TX, Polly (Dr. Steve) Bitticker of Erie, PA, Dr. Mario (Catherine) Conol of Ft. Myers, FL, Ken (Medon) Conol of Palm Bay, FL; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Engineer Mario and Teresita Conol of the Philippines; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. The family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd.
