About | BATH William R. Rowan, 53, passed away Jan. 6, 2005. Mr. Rowan was born in Akron and had resided in Bath the past three years, having moved there from the Silver Lake/Cuya hoga Falls area. He was a 1969 grad uate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and served in the U.S. Army. He was senior vice president of Legg Mason, served on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army, and was a member of Sharon Golf Club, Silver Lake Country Club, and the Hill 'N Dale Club. His greatest accomplishments were being the most important wonderful friend to Rebecca, the most fantastic father to his children, an excellent son and brother, and a friend to all. Preceded in death by his fa ther, Malcolm "Mac" Rowan, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rebecca; children, Jared, Margie, and Hayley; mother, June R. Rowan; sisters, Lynne Rowan, Gail Rowan, both of Cuyahoga Falls, and Jill (Grego ry) Carroll of South Carolina; nieces, Melissa of New York and Megan of North Carolina. A heartfelt thank-you and appreci ation to all his friends who have stood by and supported Bill and the family this past year. Thank you to Dr. Jeffrey W. Clark, Wendy Lis, Dr. Andrew L. Warshaw and Dr. Christopher G. Willett at Massachusetts General Hospital. "There's a place I travel when I want to roam, and nobody knows it but me. The roads don't go there and the signs stay home, and nobody knows it but me. It's far, far away and way, way afar, it's over the moon and the sea and wherever you're going that's wherever you are. And nobody knows it but me. A funeral service will be con ducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 130 Broad Blvd., Cuya hoga Falls, Ohio, Rev. Gabe Campbell officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the so cial hall. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. The family requests memorials to Massa chusetts General Hospital, at tention Dr. Jeffrey W. Clark, Director Clinic Trials Support, Cancer Center, 100 Blossom St., Cox Building, Boston, Mass. 02114, or the Salvation Army, 190 S. Maple St., Akron, Ohio 44302, in his memory. - |
